Willy take it from an ex manager ...dont go there!!!!

If you really want to do it then the best bet is to get up there now...especially weekends because a lot of the clubs are doing working bees.....

Get known around the place and talk talk talk....its the easiest way.

Try it for a season Willy. Then let us know.

A small hint - Its very dificult to get out early for first tracks when the pows up with 20 or 30 people wanting to know were their corn flakes are.

You can add the next 50 to the list.
 ;)
To snow or not to snow - it isn't an option

You have to be there when people arrive and leave, which can be anytime of day or night.  You have to keep an eye on everyone, be seen and make suer everything is running smoothly...after this you may get some time on the snow.

Also some lodges expect you to have MYOB experience, so it may pay to look into that.  Although a heap of club lodges have a booking officer seperate to do it.

The club lodge we stay in at Hotham is great and the managers get their fair share of skiing.  I say do it, but try to get 2 of you in there, that way you can share the duties and one can be skiing.  Last year our lodge had 2 girls doing the job, although it's normally a couple thing.

I already go to william angliss and have seen the corse info on that the only thing that stoped me was

Quote
In 2001 tuition fees have been set at $10,000 per year :o. This fee includes a Mt Buller Seasons lift pass.

Students will be required to cover accommodation, transport and equipment costs in addition to tuition fees

Student will also need to cover expenses for external accreditation where necessary.
