Downhill Resorts
(1/1)
Snowman:
With all the discussion in the last few months about ski resort development in the Alpine Areas, The Thredbo Disaster and the always doom and gloom long range climate forecasts for Australia, its a good time to see what people really think.
Do we need more resorts in different locations? ( there are 12 locations that i know of that have been identified in one way or another as being suitable)
Do we have enough aleady to meet the demands of the skiing public?
Do we need to remove some non-viable areas and return them to a native state?
What do you think?
klaski:
Will give my views latter got to play cricket.
klaski:
We lost. Back to the subject.
There appears that the lower resorts are going to struggle into the future (assuming all the predictions are correct). I don't think they should be starting new Resorts we would be better increasing the size of the existing ones. That way all the current infrastructure will be better utilised and the ecological impact will be kept to a minimum.
I suppose this is really argueing for a reduction, but it should only happen if the lower resorts cannot function economically, not by decree.
