shopping for skis
« on: June 28, 2002, 11:31:44 AM »
Have spent years on a pair of trusty VolklP9s and finally want to ski some new hot skis. Like skiing off piste mostly. Have ski bummed two seaons in St anton so can ski a little. Not to fussed about buying this seaons latest fahion statement. Have just had a son so funds are short. Any recomendations where I could pick up a pair of skis  and which model. I.m a 70kg male aggresive skier.
Thanks from Shane. ???

Shane are you looking for a new pair or something used but in good nick???

If you're looking for used have a look at ebay and stuff auctions you might pick up a bargain.

As for new gear it depends on what state youre in as to where the best place is to go.

You've probbly missed out on most stores sales for this year so it may be hard to find a bargain.

Oh and dont think that ski's are cheaper in the city than in the country...Country stores and those on the slopes can quite often be cheaper!

Personally id say go for a pair of Rossi Bandits if you can find last years model going cheap!

Shane I 've been skiing on Volkl P10sl for many years now. Have found the switch to carve ski's "interesting".

I would recommend that you try a number of different carvers because they ski so differently to what you are used to. Do one of those demo deals where you rent for a day with the option to keep swapping ski's.

I know this is not the cheapest option but ultimately a bargin that's wrong is still expensive.

For me I just want another new pr of P10's. :'(

P.S. sign up and join in regularly. ;)

P.P.S. Good luke with the dadding. :)

To snow or not to snow - it isn't an option
