keep the feeling
« on: April 29, 2003, 01:43:53 AM »
soul is where you find it!
if your catching my drift , im telling a story about my first day on a board 8)
go into ski hire shop in town to hire skis ::)
see a snowboard standing against a wall, never even seen one before! stuck it straight under my arm and walked out with the image in my head of surfing all over the mountain ;D
went up to thredbo, arriving at about 4 in the morn, walking up the hill, into the darkness to strap in and have my first ever slide,( in the dark, and full of beer)
didnt work so back to the car to sleep and wait for light! ;)
day breaks and were straigh to the top of the chairlift!first run was straight back down below the top staition I remember it being verry steep, and everyone else traversed around this drop, holding a straight line, i leaned back and tookit on. everything was sweet untill i reached the bottom and tried to turn at high speed, catching heel edge and nearly ripping my head off as i was rolling and tumbling maybe4 or 5 times!
spent the rest of the day trying to SURF on the board and didnt have much luck as the weight dispersion is totally different.
;D ;Dthe main thing that reminds me of the soul of this outing is that itwas 13 years ago, I only saw 2 other boarders at thredbo that day, and I was fully decked out in steel capped doc martins, denim jeans and a flanno ;D ;D ;D
wish i could go back there again ;)
Just LaunchiT

the only reason you get hurt when you snow board is
that i was 3 years old when i started skiing and 30 when i started shredding dood . ;D
but i think i must of fell once or twice when i was 3.
