Anyone had a go on a Snowflex slope in the UK?
What did you think? Would it work here?
Imagine boarding a half hour from home?

No Jeff not Snowflex. What is it (echo Eviie)

The only non snow surface I have skied is a dry ski run, made out of those bristle mats like you see some times at the start and end of lifts.

In Edinburgh Scotland ironically.

I assume Snowflex is like Dendix dry slope???

if so ...YUK

I used to slide on it at the old Australian Waterjump park up at Wandin (yarra valley) a back in the early 90's it is horrible stuff to ski on.

If youre going to ski on anything away from the snow then an indoor ski slope is better than nothing....

Dry slopes = Pain....funny thing is the Poms are right into them....they are everywhere....

They never really took off over here...there used to be one at Narrabeen (NSW) and one on the south caost of NSW and one in the Adelaide Hills years ago but they are all gone now....

That's interesting snowman, I didn't know that there were dry slopes around in the past. When I came back from Britain, after I had a go on the one in Edinburgh I looked into setting one up near Melbourne. But then dropped the idea because it all got to hard. (I'm talking 20years ago)

And your right dry ski run = pain  :o

Yo,
Ive been waiting to see some action about this dry slope over here in australia. In fact i am considering making a protabe board park that people can hire out. I work in the entertainment industry with inftlateable jumping castles and amusement rides, and i would love to build a portable board park. If any one knows about where i can find this "snowflex" give me a yell! Ive been doing my research a bit and snowflex looks the bes t so far. Oh and by the way the pain suffered can be half as bad as witing forthe next season to come and then having to pay crazy lift ticket prices when you could board/ski all year round!!! I love it!!!  ;D

Does anyone know where I could get hold of some (preferably) second hand Dendrix artificial snow or something like it? I need about 10-20 square meters.

Gday mate. Do you remember the name of the dry slope ski jump parks that used to operate out of Narrabeen and the south coast? Where abouts on the south coast was it? Thanks very much. My email is lamontwade@hotmail.com if you care to drop it to me there, cheers
